Where does the money from registrations and donations go?
Proceeds from the Bobcat Bolt go directly to The Oyster River Alumni Association. This non-profit organization will make a donation to The Durham Teen Initiative for the construction of a youth center in Durham in the names of Josh and Nate Hardy with proceeds from the Bobcat Bolt and Oyster River Festival. In year one we were able to donate $5,000. The event itself costs ORAA about $20,000 in expenses for all the infrastructure around the race, promotions and advertising, vendors, music, tenting, USATF sanctioning, etc.
Is my dog allowed to run with me?
Sorry, for safety and liability reasons the Bobcat Bolt does not allow dogs.
Race Day Volunteers:

Why we run:
The Bobcat Bolt is a part of the vision to bring our community together, annually, to remember Nate and Josh Hardy, and to help support the future of our community – the youth of the Oyster River School District.
Proceeds from the Bobcat Bolt will be donated to the Oyster River Teen Initiative in the names of Josh and Nate Hardy.
Oyster River Teen Initiative description:
The Oyster River Youth Initiative is designed to expand support and resources for teens in our community through a variety of programs and opportunities. One goal is to provide a welcoming, dynamic, youth-oriented facility that is available after school for those who are not already engaged in other extra-curricular, work or internship commitments. Currently, plans are underway to create a youth center for after-hours recreation, relaxation and connecting over good food and great music. The Center will be available to teens with the hope of also providing a weekend venue for music, entertainment and the arts. Additionally, the goal of the Initiative is to provide mentoring opportunities with area youth in order to provide greater academic support, volunteer service opportunities, and expanded cultural opportunities.

Why we run:
The Bobcat Bolt is a part of the vision to bring our community together, annually, to remember Nate and Josh Hardy, and to help support the future of our community – the youth of the Oyster River School District.
Proceeds from the Bobcat Bolt will be donated to the Oyster River Youth Initiative in the names of Josh and Nate Hardy.
Oyster River Youth Initiative description:
The Oyster River Youth Initiative is designed to expand support and resources for teens in our community through a variety of programs and opportunities. One goal is to provide a welcoming, dynamic, youth-oriented facility that is available after school for those who are not already engaged in other extra-curricular, work or internship commitments. Currently, plans are underway to create a youth center for after-hours recreation, relaxation and connecting over good food and great music. The Center will be available to teens with the hope of also providing a weekend venue for music, entertainment and the arts. Additionally, the goal of the Initiative is to provide mentoring opportunities with area youth in order to provide greater academic support, volunteer service opportunities, and expanded cultural opportunities.
